Learning

At Brookshire Learning Center, the child comes first. We take pride in not only providing for their physical and emotional needs, but for their developmental needs as well. Our curriculum was created for its balance between both teacher-directed and child-initiated learning. It is our goal to help the children develop the passion for learning that they will carry with them throughout their life. Brookshire Learning Center uses a weekly theme based curriculum that is designed to foster social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development and to enhance learning in literacy, math, science, social studies, and the arts. This allows the teachers to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate, content-rich program for children of all backgrounds and skill levels that is constantly matching the interests of the students. Please be sure to look for the weekly lesson plans hanging in the classrooms.

Communication

Providing an environment where children grow their confidence and learn to express themselves in a variety of situations.

Social and emotional

Encourage children to develop an attitude of kindness, cooperation, courtesy and helpfulness towards others while developing self-confidence and independence.

Physical

Helping children develop their coordination, control and movement through a variety of fine and gross motor activities.

Expressive arts

Enabling children to explore and play with a wide range of media and materials.

Literacy

Encouraging children to link sounds and letters and begin to read and write. Children are exposed to a wide range of reading materials to ignite their interest.

Best daycare I’ve ever had for all 3 of my children! We’ve been to places all around the Lafayette area and also in indianapolis and this is by far my favorite place! I love to watch my children grow from room to room and still get to see their old teachers. My school age child still loves to come drop off her siblings just to connect with her old teachers.

We were enrolled in the Southside Brookshire Learning Center. My daughter went there when she was 5 years old. We had a great experience. Her teacher's were so compassionate with her. I am glad we went there.

Brookshire is outstanding! Both of our boys have gone here. They really prepared my oldest for Kindergarten. The teachers are amazing and truly care about the kids. I had a preemie that had multiple surgeries and I felt comfortable leaving my kids there, which says a lot for this mama bear. I appreciate the organization, wonderful curriculum, and seeing our kids flourish here.

We love everything about Brookshire. The staff is phenomenal and I feel comfortable and safe leaving my two year old there. They treat her like their own.

Our son attended brookshire back in his preschool days which we feel prepared him to start kindergarten. Now in his freshman year and our youngest having been there the past year not much has changed as our daughter's thriving as her brother had.
