Greater Lafayette families have been putting down roots with us since 1970. We consider it an honor to both educate and nurture local children from 8 weeks to 12 years old. Our two learning centers employ hands-on learning curriculum and inspiring activities allowing your child to flourish. And our safe, caring environment allows Brookshire to be your child’s home away from home.
We’re not a franchise, we’re a family. As independently-owned learning centers, we can focus on giving your child the best care and education, instead of worrying about franchise fees or corporate red tape. We’re in the business of growing and nurturing young bodies and minds with a team who loves what they do.
Our dedicated staff and teachers are the heartbeat of this place. Our turnover is low for this industry. Our team enjoys higher-than-average pay and unprecedented professional development. Everyone here is also state certified and meets all Indiana child care and preschool standards. And most importantly, we have huge hearts for children and learning.
Seeing the joy on children’s faces at Brookshire is the highlight of my day. I run the day-to-day operations at our West Lafayette location, ensuring the best possible experience in a safe and nurturing environment. With a bachelor’s in child development and family studies, I’ve worked with children for years, including teaching Sunday School, working with 4-H, being a music teacher, tutoring, and leading workshops on parenting and related topics. When I’m not at work, you can find me spending time with my husband and four kids. I also love landscaping, hiking, swimming, reading, and restoring old houses.
Leading the day-to-day operations at our Lafayette Center might be my official job description, but I truly love forming deep bonds with the children here, the families, and our team. Watching the children grow and develop over the years is a joy. It’s thrilling to see many of them even return to Brookshire as young adults with their own families. With a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and parenting three children of my own, I’m able to draw on my own experiences and knowledge as I work to keep our center thriving and safe. Outside of work, I love spending time with my three sons, reading, and traveling.
While areas like human resources, financial management, planning, culture, and communication officially fall under my purview, my focus is helping to create a friendly environment at Brookshire where we can make a positive difference for kids, parents, and the Brookshire team. As a lifelong learner and teacher, I hold a bachelor’s in music, an MBA degree, and am currently pursuing a master’s in elementary education. I also bring 30+ years of leadership and team-development experience to Brookshire. In my free time, I love to read, write, travel with family, and enjoy good music and tea.
